Biography

Mary Glindon MP
Member of Parliament for
North Tyneside

(Born in North Shields, in 1957).


Educated at the Sacred Heart Grammar School, in Newcastle, and Northumbria University, she has worked in the Public, Voluntary and Private Sectors. 

Prior to becoming an MP, in 2010, she worked as an Administrative Officer, in the CSA, at Longbenton. 

Mary was a North Tyneside councillor for 15 years, representing Battle Hill Ward, where she lives with her husband, Ray. 

A former civic mayor, she was North Tyneside’s Cabinet Member for Health and Well-Being and Older Person’s Champion. 

In Parliament Mary sits on both the EFRA and CLG Select Committees and  is Principal Private Secretary to Mary Creagh, Shadow Transport Minister.
